Re: Superbike 2001

in Windows
There's an unofficial XP patch at http://www.bhmotorsports.com/SBK2k1 I haven't actually tried this myself as I only have Superbike 2000. Just happened to notice they had this there (got the unofficial Viper Racing XP sound fix patch from this site).

Re: doom on XP

in DOS
Hmm, I believe the only way to use an earlier DirectDraw version would be to install an older version of DirectX. I'd only recommend this as a last resort though. From what I understand you'll probably need a DirectX uninstall utility to completely remove the current version before trying to install …

Re: doom on XP

in DOS
Yeah I run all the old Doom engine games in Doomsday as well, mainly for the OpenGL/HiRes support. Although I can appreciate wanting to run those games unmodified. 😎 Glad the DirectDraw thing worked for ya. I have my moments occasionally heh. Cheers 😀

Re: doom on XP

Have you tried turning off DirectDraw? I'm not sure if that will fix the problem but it's worth a shot.

Yeah I kinda figured that was the case, just wanted to be sure. Thanks for the reply. Cheers 😀

Screamer 3dfx

in DOS
I've seen a couple of posts in these forums suggesting that the original Screamer had a 3dfx patch. I've serached quite a bit through google but all I could find are patches for Screamer 2 and Screamer Rally. Can anyone confirm for sure that a 3dfx patch for the original exists and if so where it …

Re: dgVoodoo & Mechwarrior 2 3Dfx

Hi, replied to your PM Carrera. Might as well post this for anyone else wondering. I forgot to mention I'm still running all the Mech2 games under Windows 98SE. I still haven't found a way to run these on XP unfortunately. I recall trying ACT 2.5 awhile back with no success. Thanks again for …

Re: Win9x games with CD audio in WinXP

in Windows
I don't know if this will help but could it be related to XP having no ASPI drivers? I've been using something called ForceASPI for ages although in my case mainly for use with PSX emulators. There's a little adaptec tool called aspichk.exe that will verify if the drivers are installed. Might be …

Re: dgVoodoo & Mechwarrior 2 3Dfx

Hi Dege, I believe Heavy Gear was one of the earlier glide 2.43 games. Came out in 1997. Although it did have direct3D support as well, I always felt the texture rendering was a bit better using glide. All I did was copy the glide2x.dll and dgVoodooSetup.exe from my NFS2SE folder (which I copied …

Re: dgVoodoo & Mechwarrior 2 3Dfx

Bit off topic but semi-related info. Another game that works really well with dgVoodoo is Heavy Gear. It's great to be able to play this at higher resolutions as this was another Mech2 engine based game that only supported 640x480. Big Thanks to Dege! 😁

Re: TES Arena Help

Hi, original poster here. Thanks for the reply/move HunterZ. Yeah 0.61 is the version elderscrolls.com is still linking to. I tried it in 0.63 and it made a big difference. Did'nt mess with the config, just increased cpu cycles to 10k and frameskip to 10. It's very playable now. Oh, I'm …
