Anyone remember Omega drivers for ATI? Can i make them work with Ati Rage Mobility? Cause default driver is not perfect.

The SXGA models have life-limited CCFLs that can turn the screen red (and fail over time) I guess it's not the problem of Thinkpad itself rather than a whole old laptop issue. Right? I just got this laptop and was unable to do a clean install of windows. I will do it later. Tried more random old builds: 351 okay 444 okay 504 and later BSOD Does this help somehow?

the BSOD happens before you get a chance to see that screen (and enter the Settings or press Run) Exactly.

Since I'm getting BSODs I'm unable to enable debug write. Used this, added DebugMode=1 to ini file, but it didn't help. I've got a Compaq N400C laptop from 2000. Windows XP. Downloaded latest version of HWINFO and when I launch 32bit exe my system stuck for a while and then reboots.

Okay, I bought Compaq N400c. Looks like I'm in the same boat with dos sound (ESS Allegro under DOS - Compaq Evo N600C) but I didn't understand whether I'll be able to play or not.

Looks like the case is solved. My friend owns Thinkpad T22, he says that older soundcard driver works in native DOS. Newer driver works in DOS via Win 98... And it has SAVAGE video card that can play Q3, Half-Life 1 with 30+ fps. I need to find it now. eBay is empty 🙁

Was there any laptop with fully dos-compatible soundcard and (!) good videocard with acceleration for late 90th pc games (for unreal, half-life, thief 1)
