Re: img to iso

in DOS
@ulfenknulfen: "Any to iso" isn't working. I'm beginning to suspect the issue might be with the *.img files themselves. I uploaded a single *.img file to: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SZVS90hzBAjEpGsIuO2Zq_W_wYeWAsiu/view?usp=sharing . While it is very old program (Microsoft Visual Basic 3.0 …

Re: img to iso

in DOS
@BloodyCactus: that might be, but it seems my *.img files are a different type of *.img than yours. I can't mount more than one at a time.

Re: img to iso

in DOS
Thank you for the reply, but I think I just found a workaround though. While DOSBox is a wonderful emulator some things about it can be rather confusing. To me at least.

img to iso

in DOS
Okay, I want to mount several floppy images at once in DOSBox, but this can only be done with *.iso files and I have a bunch of *.img files. I looked for programs that can convert *.img to *.iso and found several that claim to do to so: 1. PowerISO is said to be able to convert *.img to *.iso - but …

Re: imgmount question

@Jorpho - no I don’t think I am the first one, in fact I made the suggestion because I suspect others have played with the same idea. @oldbie: virtualbox has such a half assed support for hardware it failed miserably at running any old Windows version in any useful manner. I got impossible to fix …

Re: imgmount question

Hmmm I agree and disagree here. I agree in so far as that I understand DOSBox shouldn't cater to every niche possible, on the other hand there are people wishing to run software that only runs properly on Windows 9x/ME for example. With a better integrated disk image support this would be a lot …

Re: imgmount question

Hmmm, so while this isn't a DOSBox specific issue, perhaps a warning should be added in the DOSBox manual? Also, I now use an external image creation tool (Bochs'BXImage) which ignores the FDisk limitation when giving you your image's geometry. Perhaps DOSBox should have its own image creation tool …

imgmount question

In my dosbox.conf I have the following line: imgmount 2 d:\other\win95\c.img -size 512,63,16,1040 -fs none -t hdd Which should mean I get an emulated harddisk of 512 mb. Why is FDisk (executed from a Windows 95 boot disk image) telling me it's only 8 mb?

Re: Nightmare Ned, dgvoodoo2, and InnoSetup on Windows 10

in DOS
Okay, I tried installing Nightmare Ned using the unmodified setup files I already had and manually copied dmix.dll and dino2d.dll. According to a dependency walker I used NiteNed.exe is trying to import a function called _grdCreateEx@24 from dino2d.dll but failing. The dino2d.dll file I have does …

Re: Nightmare Ned, dgvoodoo2, and InnoSetup on Windows 10

in DOS
Hi xcomcmdr, thank you for taking the time to reply. I tried your installer, but unfortunately I just get a bunch of error messages about dmix.dll/dino32.dll/some smk dll thingy not being found. Could you describe how you installed the game step by step? And just to be clear, you did get it to work …

Nightmare Ned, dgvoodoo2, and InnoSetup on Windows 10

in DOS
Okay, having heard from someone else on this forum Nightmare Ned can be installed with InnoSetup and made to work with dgvoodoo2 I have tried again to get this game to work in Windows 10. After installing InnoSetup and looking at dgvoodoo2 I am left with several questions: 1. A search of these …
