Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Populous the Beginning is acting different in 2.51 in a weird way. With 2.45 you had to force a refresh rate or it would run out of video memory when doing resolution changes. 2.51 still has that problem, but now forcing refresh rates really screws up the resolution. It seems to use the resolution …

Always consult the PCGamingWiki . In addition to what that says, teleguy is probably right. That said as the article he links to writes, using a crack is not the only way (and not always possible). You can also self sign the Windows 8 version of the driver and use it in Windows 10 test mode. I've …

And according your words you think all multiplatform games are not good. As most popular games are such, hence you agree that most noticable today games are bad. I didn't write that most popular games today are bad anywhere. I didn't write that most multiplatform games are bad anywhere. You might …

I see a lot of people who thinks new games are lacking, while severely limiting where they look. Some people won't buy consoles or handheld gaming devices. Others avoid titles that aren't released in a retail box, that aren't released on Steam, that aren't released DRM free or that's "indie". Don't …

Another thing you can do is learn how to use the Application Compatibility Toolkit and isolate the compatibility fix that does make the game work and apply only that. The entire collection of compatibility fixes included in the Win95/Win98 modes do not play well with wrappers.

Why would you tell her? She's put both the dog and you in horrible situations. You don't owe her anything. But yeah, she hasn't randomly decided to look after two years. I'm thinking she knows and is after money.

Memorize that url. NCR is short for No Country Redirection, it brings you to the main Google page not whatever terrible localized version you have. I live in the US, Google is a US company so why would I get a "terrible localized version"? Microsoft is a US company as well. It's just ruling out a …

It's probably just a bug. Microsoft's web pages not working properly doesn't exactly shock me. It's intentional and it's been like that for months. Yes. Microsoft is perfect and them leaving a bug for months is unthinkable (sarcasm, if you can't tell). I'm not saying it can't be intentional, but …

I've noticed some time ago that download link for exFAT driver for XP doesn't work anymore. Always remember to stash all your downloads of patches and updates. They (MS) can't be trusted. They've publicly stated and given several advance warnings that XP is not going to be supported any longer. …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

I've got a problem with 2.51 with Blood 2. My windows mouse pointer is flickering into the game for some ms frequently. It didnt happen with v2.50. Maybe it has something to do with the new "capture mouse" option? It doesnt make a difference if checkmarked or not. The problem is only solvable by …

I recently stumbled upon a SDL2 port of NFS2se. Check it out here: https://github.com/zaps166/NFSIISE I was able to compile it on Linux and it works nicely there. It should be able to be compiled for Windows as well. There's now a build for Windows available as well. Don't get a smooth framerate …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Aspect ratio correction seems to opt for 2400x1360 here which is NOT my desktop resolution, but my highest custom resolution. My native resolution (2560x1440) or desktop resolution (2560x1440) is not used. Using a Nvidia card.

Fun fact: I googled "Windows software missing on Linux" and I got a lot of information about Windows software people felt were missing or subpar on Linux. I googled "Linux software missing on Windows" and got the exact same results  Because Google didn't find any pages with words in that order …

leileilol: the point here being not to virtualize any of the devices you think are going to be problematic, but use them directly. it's very possible and doesn't have any huge drawbacks beyond the extra resources you'll have to dedicate to it and the difficulty setting it up. This isn't theoretical, …

I can rattle off a lot of software for Linux that has no windows equivalent or a very poorly designed one with absolutely NO support. Unsurprisingly enough, those are the utils whose absence makes me want to start throwing things when I want to get *anything* done on a win* machine. Fun fact: I …
