Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

VirtuaIceMan wrote: MrEWhite wrote: Mud wrote: Dege can you add to dgVoodoo frame limiter? I'd like the ability to set the refresh rate too, as it defaults to 60hz but my monitor will do 120 or 144 too. That's already an option. Enumerate refresh rates (on general tab) + Resolution dropdown box (on …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Alien Vs Predator 2 works now. The demo anyway, but being the same problem as NOLF, you probably guessed as much. Disciples II works now (in both ddraw and d3d modes). The last display glitch in Magic & Mayhem is gone, so that seems perfect now. Total Annihilation Kingdoms now works perfectly in …

Re: Best ways to stop a border from appearing around a game?

in Windows
Almost looks nice too (for reference: don't do this, high framerates mess up the game's physics): Edit: sorry, my mistake, borderless window utilities do work. I sometimes forget MSI OSD has performance issues with some games. Would still recommend going with D3DWindower though.

Re: Best ways to stop a border from appearing around a game?

Use D3DWindower to force it windowed... Then borderless window utilities to resize that window to fullscreen and remove window borders. Borderless Gaming is the most user friendly one. Got it working at 1600x1200/100hz here. Would say constant 100 FPS, but there's some mildly annoying FPS stuttering …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Got 2 more for you to think about: F1 World Grand Prix (99) and WARM UP!, both of which use the same engine. They work fine but only at 30fps, however using either the modified DDRAW.dll approach or your wrapper, both crash after the opening videos (when the menu should appear). Not related to …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Urban chaos With or without dgvoodoo is the same thing, menu 32 fps, game stuck 21 fps. (16/24 bit color) For reference: this is correct behavior. The game runs at 21 FPS and game speed is locked to framerate. You can run it at higher framerates by editing a ini file but game speed will be equally …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Not sure if I mentioned this when I talked about the two problems with TA Kingdoms (fails to find D3D render, fails to enumerate resolutions with software render), but it has a demo: http://www.fileplanet.com/30324/30000/fileinfo/Total-Annhilation:-Kingdoms-Demo Not the most important game, but it …

Re: XP-era games that have trouble running on Win7/8

in Windows
I think the only important thing is if they do or do not work. If they work, it's really only a matter of better documentation, which everyone can do. What if something only works because of some obscure configuration setting that not everyone knows how to document? If you can find it you can …

Just about all old games are a PITA to run on modern systems if you ask me. I think the only important thing is if they do or do not work. If they work, it's really only a matter of better documentation, which everyone can do. Pity there isn't even a good wiki for documentation on how to run old …
