Re: Is SCC-1 compatible to lapc/mt32?

in PC Emulation
mt-32 = lapc-i right? Yeah, but WITHOUT the extra 33 soundeffects. Some games take advantage of em. The adaptor-cable came with my card. Cant tell you more about it. Just go to a store that sells music equipment. There you will definetely find help. Nagra EDIT: Here is a picture of my SCC-1 (I won …

Re: Is SCC-1 compatible to lapc/mt32?

Unfortunately that will have to wait. Cause I have that app downloaded on my MAC that has NO 3,5" Disk Drive. I first need a 3,5"-USB diskdrive to "transport" the program to my PC. And my PCs cd-rom drive is still not set up at this time. Hope your SCC1 will arrive soon. There are one or two MT32 on …

Re: Is SCC-1 compatible to lapc/mt32?

in PC Emulation
Hi, last night, um - very, very early in this morning I set up my new retro-pc. First I connected all the different audio outputs from -soundblaster pro -scc-1A -mt-32 to a cheap behringer audiomixer. From there a master signal goes directly into my old stereo amplifier with passive speakers. After …

Re: Is SCC-1 compatible to lapc/mt32?

A CM-32L will do just fine cause you already got an SCC-1. And to connect an external roland-module to your computer you need a real roland midi mpu401-interface (AFAIK). Your SCC-1 contains one - it is one! It should be possible to use a later ISA soundcards midi-port as well, but I have heard that …

Re: MAC OSX problem

Hi, I am running DOS Box on my PPC G4 and I have attached my dosbox.conf. Please look at the very last entries. They activate the CD-ROM games I have. The # in front a line just skips it. The specific CD-ROM has to be inserted into your CD-drive BEFORE starting DOS-Box. In the last "mount" command …

Re: Is SCC-1 compatible to lapc/mt32?

in PC Emulation
Hi, well, I can not give you a precise answer but two things are for sure: 1. The LAPC-music played trough a SCC-1 differs slightly from a real LAPC-I (tested it with Ultima Underworld 1 by myself). Some instruments sound exactly like an LAPC-I (had one over a decade ago), others do not. But in many …

Re: Problem with REAL MT-32 and MAC OS 10.3.9

in MT-32 General
And back I am. I displayed my problem at the queststudios-forum and I was told there that: "DOSBox only supports QuickTime and the CoreAudio softsynth. It doesn't support CoreMIDI, which is what would need to be used on Mac OS X for real hardware MIDI." Since the coremidi-support was implemented …

Re: Problem with REAL MT-32 and MAC OS 10.3.9

Unfortunately there is no such option on a Mac. I am working with OS 10.4.4 apples latest OS. All I could do is set the quicktime music synthesizer (which is the default setting) to a soundfont perhaps. But I don´t want any more emus, I want the real thing! I found no way to tell the Mac OS to send …

Hello Hunter, sorry for the absence, but I had to earn some money to get my bills paid. Well, I am using the CD-ROM Classics version of Ultima Underworld 1 + 2. Both of em on one CD. In the sound setup menue I choose Roland for music and sound and Soundblaster for Speech. Before exiting the …

No Hunter, the dosbox.conf is in the right place. Found that out by changing some settings like cycles or making entries at the end for the autoexec.bat. DOS Box responded immediately to my changes after it´s next run. Am I right Hunter, that you own a real MT-32 too and that the device does …

Re: New dosbox Frontend - dosboxGui

Hi maYO, just noticed your thread about the gui. It is very nice, really. And I am hoping, that you will bring it to MAC OS X as well as for the other platforms. You know, we MAC users usually expect things to just run or work after only a few mouseklicks. 😊 Very good work! Go on! Nagra

Re: Problem with REAL MT-32 and MAC OS 10.3.9

Thanks HunterZ, well, I created a dosbox.conf file. It is located in the dosbox-application folder. I modified the midi part like this: mpu401=true intelligent=true device=coreaudio config= I named the device "coreaudio" cause that made sense to me. I think that coreaudio is an apple technology. I …

Problem with REAL MT-32 and MAC OS 10.3.9

in MT-32 General
Hi folks, first of all: My real MT32 works great now with the latest CVS of SCUMMVM for the MAC. But I am having problems in getting the device to play music under DOS Box 0.6.3-1 for MAC OS X. In fact - nothing happens. I have an Edirol UM2/EX USB-MIDI-Adaptor connected to my G4 with OS 10.3.9. …
