In Windows 9x you get two separate MIDI inputs and two outputs, so it can be connected to SC-88 series A and B inputs for 32 MIDI channels. In DOS second output mirrors first unfortunately.

I did request support for it and tested it as well. There's no TSR at all. Official Roland's tool doesn't do anything other than PnP init either. It does support intelligent mode.

That's a dual VGA input VisionRGB-PRO. Good if you have PCI slot and driver support is up to Windows 7. Got one of those too but alas no recent mobo with PCI port to plug it into to test. There might be resolution detection difference between this one and Ex series.

He's using native instruments massive software synth with effects and NI software stack in general. Sometime ago suggested him to use real 486 as sequencer in live performance, he seem wants too but not sure what came out of that.

If you want compatibility with DOS Glide titles then either Voodoo1 or Voodoo2. If you don't care about that and stick to Windows titles then Voodoo3 is a good choice and has no need for 2D card. If you aren't sure you can use Roland PSB series power adaptor for your region. But really it's just 9v unit (reversed polarity tho).
