Re: SVGA Games for 286 ?

Moraffware's got yer back Check out the ones from 1991-1993 or so. These guys made a point of supporting every common SVGA chipset and the games are mostly simple enough for a 286. Not recommended for the photosensitive or for those with a history of adverse reactions to psychedelics.

The truth is that we are a message, traveling through the universe. The message is contained in our DNA and will only be readable at the time it is delivered. This is why the grays are probing peoples butts, to try and decypher the encryption en-route. So just remember if you are ever feeling down, …

Re: Looking for help with analyzing disassembled code->

Maybe someone will recognize an algorithm here, but the first thing I'd do is debug Cartooners while it's running, set some breakpoints on those functions, and try to see which user actions get them to trigger (if at all). Seeing when/where code gets used could give vital clues towards the "why" and …

Nice! Reminds me of a very old PC World article which pointed out some novel uses for the 5150's cassette port - controlling lights and equipment from the keyboard, keying it to a ham radio transmitter, timed triggering of appliances around your house, activating a burglar alarm if someone touches …

Judas Priest is good for long soldering sessions. Not only to speed on the highway... Who would have thought :) Yeah, who'd expect shit-hot molten METAL to be good for soldering... *Cue canned laughter* Now listening to the brand new one. With over *half a century* of history behind them this is …

Re: Carmageddon - low fps while driving open areas

My CPU: Core i5 2,5 GHz - so why it can't calculate level geometry in real time? Thank you. Games in DOSBox never execute directly on your host CPU. The full system is emulated, hardware included, which adds a lot of overhead. For best performance make sure you set cycles=max , cputype=auto , and …

Anyone happen to know why sometimes the forum won't show inline images? Yeah, it's weird. I asked the same thing months ago in the forum feedback thread and got nothing, which must mean that this extremely convoluted issue is still being feverishly investigated. ;) FantasyLand doesn't seem to use …

Re: MartyPC

Excellent!! so text mode pel panning should be possible (I have to find some demo that does this...) I'm pretty sure FantasyLand does that. It should be a good text mode torture-test in general, although it expects the EGA to be switched to 15.7KHz-only operation (i.e. 200-line text modes). PCjs …
