Re: DOSBox Icon

I've updated the XP pack to have sizes up to 128x128, since apparently there are ways to get XP to display that size (and even if you don't, the icon file is still XP-readable - 256x256 makes XP flip out).

Re: DOSBox Icon

Posting some stuff here, since there hasnt been a lot of icon-making activity in this thread lately (although bobdevis' icons from the last page were quite good looking) Was messing around with the 5.25" floppy idea. Unoriginal, but I tried to make them look at least halfway "authentic" and I dare …

Re: No CRT Emulation? Why!?

in PC Emulation
Mean something like this? http://i.imgur.com/F15aO.jpg (yeah that's just a photoshop job... serves as my wallpaper) I'd love to see some oldschool CRT emulation, too, but unfortunately I don't think it's feasible to expect DOSbox to have anything like that any time soon. How to tweak CGA / EGA game palettes easily :)

Something fun that I came across, maybe this will be interesting to some (I remember there was some talk about hacking different palettes for CGA games) I've found this public domain utility here: http://cd.textfiles.com/microhaus/mhblackbox2/SCREEN/CHGCOLOR.ZIP (documentation and source included) …

Really old PC Speaker speech-programs for DOS??

I've been …

Re: Mounting CUE

MP3 gets wrong timing because it changes the soundwaves a lot when compression takes place To be pedantic, that's not the actual reason (OGG "changes the soundwaves a lot" too, for example) - the issue is that MP3 is encoded in "frames" of a constant size (1 frame = 26ms, or around 38fps), so if …

Re: DOSBox Midi vs ScummVM Midi Question

Hmmm..... from what I know of AdLib FM synthesis (and I could be wrong), even though it is patch- and event-based, the generated music data is not automatically translatable into MIDI, mostly due to the inherent incompatibility of the events/commands that the two methods handle (due to their …

Re: Original Digger/Digger Remastered

The original Digger doesn't work at all. Works very well for me - what parameters are you using? Make sure to set machine=cga (the original Digger has always required CGA or a very close compatible, like many other Windmill games... never worked on my EGA and VGA machines back in the day). As for …
