Elfland (download the shareware version here ) has problems detecting the soundblaster for playing the digital sound samples and will revert to playing from the screeching pc speaker. King's Quest 5 was only on 1 CD, unless you're talking about one of the collections and you're trying to run the game from the cd instead of installing it which obviously won't work.

It's not necessarily a mac version, I've got a 32-bit and a 64-bit Vista machine and they refuse to read my 2.00b copy of King's Quest 7 but if I load it on an XP machine it works fine . It's not necessarily a mac version, I've got a 32-bit and a 64-bit Vista machine and they refuse to read my 2.00b copy of King's Quest 7 but if I load it on an XP machine it works fine. Vista and Linux just don't like the filesystem on the disc for some reason.

I didn't think Vista lets you use the gameport anymore, there's hacked drivers for 32-bit though I think. I'm using the EMU Xmidi 1x1 usb on my Vista Ultimate x64 and haven't had any problems or delay.

hi windowresolution=1024x768 "windowsresolution" does nothing, and i got an error message for a sound thing. Wouldn't you need to do something like "config sdl windowresolution=1024x768" since you're running from a bat file and there is no "windowresolution" command. But yeah it is kinda useless …

What is your output= set to in dosbox.conf? If I remember right, surface doesn't allow resizing (so you wouldn't be running at 1440x900 even if you had it set).
