Does Daytona USA Deluxe really have Glide support?

This topic says so, but I'm sure it does not. I have Daytona USA Deluxe and I know it only supports Direct3D, thanks to a patch that came out on January 20, 1998 (before that date, it did not have any kind of 3D support). Also, the only patch available at 3DGamers is the Direct3D patch. Can anyone …

Re: Getting audio in Screamer Rally

in DOS
Installing VDMSound did not help. When I run setup.bat (or chk3dfx.exe) with VDMSound and ignore the messages about the COM port, all I get when I click back to the application is a black screen. If at this point I ALT-enter back to the desktop, the screen gets all screwed up. It's easier to show …

Getting audio in Screamer Rally

in DOS
I can run the game with Windows XP through dgVoodoo and/or GliDos, but how do I get its audio to work? If I try to run chk3dfx.exe (the setup executable for the 3DFX version) or any other setup executable with GliDos, all I get is a Command Prompt window opening and closing immediately. Running …

DOSBox and Glide

I read some messages saying that DOS Glide games can work under DOSBox with a Glide wrapper, but there were no explanations about how to actually get them working. Can anyone please explain me the procedure?

Re: Fullscreen in GliDOS?

The only "piece" from dgVoodoo I used is the file glide2x.dll. I opened GliDOS as I do normally, I set it up to use "psVoodoo" (actually, the DLL from dgVoodoo), ran the game through it with those settings and it ran fine. I just made another test. I actually tried to run Screamer Rally with …

Re: Fullscreen in GliDOS?

Hey, thanks! It worked! At first I thought I had done something wrong because I did get to run the game at correct speed but couldn't get stereoscopy to work, but then I tried to replace the psVoodoo Glide2x.dll with the one provided with dgVoodoo and... I finally ran Screamer Rally in stereoscopy! …

Re: Screamer 2 and GliDOS, anyone?

So far, I only tried Screamer Rally with GliDOS. As I said in the other topic, I would be able to play it in stereoscopy (in Direct3D mode only) if it wasn't so damn slow when I try to force it to a resolution which is not its native resolution. Oh, by the way, when I used Windows 98 and the nVidia …

Re: Fullscreen in GliDOS?

Are you sure you are running the 3dfx version? Yes, I configured GliDOS to lauch the executable named sr3fx.exe , which is the 3DFX version. Have you tried selecting 16bit rendering from Glidos's menu? Yep. It remains slow anyway. Have you tried OpenGL under Glidos? It would run fine in OpenGL mode …

Re: Screamer 2 and GliDOS, anyone?

You wont get stereoscopy. That realies on Direct3D getting to do the World to Screen transformation. With Glide wrappers, that translation is done before event the Gide layer. Actually, I do get stereoscopy with dgVoodoo (which is my Glide wrapper of choice for Windows Glide games because of that). …

Screamer 2 and GliDOS, anyone?

Did anyone try to run Screamer 2 (the 3DFX version) with GliDOS -in full screen -at the resolution of 800*600 -with the Direct3D rendering ? I'm asking this because I found a copy of Screamer 2 for sale, but I don't know whether it will work fine, or running it at a higher resolution than its native …
