Hi everyone,

Do you by any chance know if there ever was an emulator written/available
which supported 10 MHz clock rate or the 68010?

I'm asking, because according to the rumors I heard in the past, the 10 MHz were the original clock rate.
It was chosen to be close to the Sega 16 arcade system, if memory serves.

Maybe there were some 10 MHz prototypes that developers used initially, before Sega changed specs for the final console?

Most MD/Genesis models will run most stable at 10 MHz, also.
That's why it was often used by overclockers.
The second was that ~13 MHz frequency, because it could be tapped internally from the motherboard.

Second, the 68010.. While there are no official games supporting it (any chance devs planned ahead?), it would be nice for homebrewers. Are there any emulators supporting it by now?

Upgrading real MDs/Genesis' wasn't unheard of, after all.
It was a common mod, like on Mac/Atari/Amiga.
And it also helped against slowdowns at the stock clock rate (swapping the CPU was enough) due to an instruction loop ("cache").
People in the 90s surely did that mod, so there are real Sega consoles with an 68010 ot there! =)

Thirdly, RAM.. Are there emulators with a bit if extra RAM?
A few physical clone consoles like some modern Super NES derivative have that feature.
It would come in handy for games that use a memory manager or compression.
Like Sonic 3, which has a decompression algorithm and fails on 68010 due to memory constraints.

Best regards,
