Posted this in DOS, but this is probably a better place. I'm trying to run Realms of the Haunting on Win XP Pro using VDMSound, but it keeps complaining about putting in the CD. The CD (and drive) are fine...on a Win98 partition the game runs ok. I know I can also get sound working on XP using VDMSound because the setup program "detects" it and can play samples. I just can't get the CD check working. I uncommented the line in autoexec.vdms for the CD-ROM extensions, but don't know what else I could be missing or should do. Can anyone help?

Might want to try running this with no sound at all to confirm it's not sound/VDMSound related.

I'm suspecting however, that it's related to the NT's version of MSCDEX.

That's being discussed in this thread.
