I'm having trouble playing MAX
It always worked fine (WinXP SP2, VDMSound 1.0.4, and sound and music working fine)
Now, when I play it, at a random time, the computer gets 100% of CPU usage (using the SAME configs as I used before, I backup the VLP files to my email :]) and I have to quit the game.
Why?
Why aren't you using DOSBox?
The game has a bug around turn 200-250...
The computer turn never ends...you can bypass this saving EVERY TURN to alternate files (example: save the actual turn to a file and the next turn to another file) that way you can restore the game before the crash and without loosing too much of your moves...
In rare times, the crash appears again and again and again on a specific turn. You can try to solve this making new moves and MAKING the computer do NEW MOVES (example: attack one of his units, this way he will move units to that place and the game perhaps don't crash anymore)

Because it runs slow in my slow computer 😢
Did you try dynamic core and higher cycles?

I will try it when I have MY OWN computer to try to play MAX online
