when i load up the game (the CD verson in the Gabrial Knight collection) in VDMS sound itll start up just fine and play ike it did on 98 but when i try to save my game it will crash same thing will happen when i try to load a game i know this is a problem that only happens with in VDMS sound as i didnt have these problems from when i had 98 installed on my machine

Are you sure? I believe Sierra did a patch for it. Check your version.

is odd. I've never had a problem switching back to other video modes. Sounds more like a problem with his specific video card.
