Couple of things jump out at me...
I've downloaded the latest version of Glidos (1.24 right?) of VDMSound (1.0.0.7 right?)
Actually, if you are running XP, I highly recommend using version 2.10 available here.
Secondly, try configuring it to use the most basic Soundblaster and make sure the IRQ and DMA match VDMSound's default settings.
