7-Zip is open source software. Most of the source code is under the GNU LGPL license. The unRAR code is under a mixed license: GNU LGPL + unRAR restrictions. Check license information here: 7-Zip license.

You can use 7-Zip on any computer, including a computer in a commercial organization. You don't need to register or pay for 7-Zip.

Is that a new GUI? The default 7-Zip GUI is so frustratingly useless that it is the principle reason I do not use 7-Zip regularly. IZarc includes 7-Zip functionality anyway.

Now have PeaZip and 7zip both installed at the same time. Seems to be working fine, and I'm not sure which I like better. Both have had problems on some old archives (LZH/LHA or maybe ZIP, can't remember) that TUGZip was able to handle; oh well...
