So I am converting the back bedroom into an expanded playroom for the kids. The problem is the room is (was) my stash room, full of my tools AND retro computer stuff. After some consideration, I have decided rather than the huge undertaking of moving everything into the attic I'm just going to keep the essentials and sell the rest. Can anyone suggest a good place to advertise things OTHER than eBay? My experiences with eBay while good in the beginning quickly descended into a nightmare and I stopped using it entirely (at least as a seller). I have no time to "protect myself" against the myriad of thieves out there. Are there any good alternatives?

Basically a huge stack of CPU's, Motherboards, Full Builds, Soundcards, RAM, Video Cards etc ... the listings alone would take forever on eBay.

Amibay looks good, I registered. Going to be a brainache having to list 300+ pieces on there individually though. It's 2015 and we still don't have a marketplace (barring the thief ridden eBay, which takes most of the money from the seller) for people to sell and buy things which is fast and easy to use.

Commercialization rulez.

😠

eBay is fine. You need to:
1: Describe items very specifically including condition, serial #, part #.
2: Require immediate PayPal payment.
3: Ship inside your country only. Use Global Shipping Program for the rest.
4: For valuable items: ship with signature delivery.
5: Configure the most restrictive buyer requirements.

You cannot blame eBay: they have the most advanced marketplace. They are not a charity and like fraudulent buyers there are fraudulent sellers.

To sell fast:
1: Create bundles.
2: Price very attractively.

Other channels:
http://www.cpu-world.com
http://www.vintage-computer.com
http://www.oldcomputers.net
http://www.classic-computing.de
http://www.dosforum.de
http://www.bonanza.com
http://www.ioffer.com
http://www.americanlisted.com
www.amazon.com

Also create a pick up only ad with everything in it: very well cataloged: e.g each item / part # / boxed or not and so forth. With an attractive price. It may sell as a bundle.

Thanks for the advice and the websites. I wasn't aware of most of those.

I will never use eBay again, after a few months of absolutely disgusting luck with buyers followed by PayPal showing me just how much they had my back. We were not talking small change here, either. Was even considering a train ticket in one case to exact revenge. Thought better of it, in the end. Regardless, I'm over all that now! 🤣

Thanks again.

I agree with the craigslist suggestion. I use it quite often, and I have never used ebay.

Selling 100s of items on CL is not very realistic.
