The gameplay is very smooth and good playable with the quake2 engine. I really enjoy my build never had so much fun with old hardware 😁

Quake 2 and HL1 would play a treat on that machine. Have fun!
So the single player of SIN is done! Awesome game. Only there are in some parts not enough health packages 🙁 That is a bit anoying
I see you love to go creative out-of-the-box case modding, excellent! The duck-tape holding the floppy drive , 🤣, very good. I confess the first thing I noticed were the diagonal on the HDD: just remember they have 2 positions in which they work fine, if you don't fancy the most common of them in this type of cases, you can always install them sideways 😉
BGWG as in Boogie Woogie.
I have my answer about the disks 😁
This guy runs 8x wd green 24/7/52/3years on 60 degrees angle without any problems!

So they will be mounted on an angle! 😁
Watched both vlogs for this black dwarf project, plenty of tools for everything you may need 😉 and it sure look a lot of fun to make it!
Probably will work fine, but I wouldn't be too comfortable about this, I think it is in the instructions on how to install an hdd.
But hey, this is only a part of your project, wich is lookin pretty good 😅

So the first Footage of gaming on this machine! I took the system to a meeting for a event. So everyone could get the 3Dfx retro gaming experience! Also a small update in the hardware and the harddisk rack installed. 😁
Looks like it's getting some good use there. Congrats on the awesome build.
I installed windows 98 on a extra 20gb harddrive 😁 Iam now playing duke nukem 3d midi's and doom midi's! OMG I live the awe64 Gold!! So awesome 😁

Watching that makes me wonder. Are CPU's powerful enough now that we don't need 3D accelerators anymore? Shouldn't a CPU with 6 or 8 cores pushing 4ghz be able to handle 3D acceleration in software without sacrificing frames or image quality?
With CPUs now including a graphics core, does this count?

Not really. What I'm basically asking is do we really need graphics hardware at all anymore whether it's integrated into the CPU, the chipset or on a video card? Shouldn't a CPU be able to do it all now without any graphics hardware at all?
I think the short answer is that CPUs are to "general", whereas GPUs are very very specialised. So no, I don't think CPUs are powerful enough! GPUs have like 1000+ cores these days.
Halflife1 in 1024x768 software mode runs fine on a 2.4 ghz machine 😀

Nice LinusTechTips and Slick mentioned me on their live stream 😁 They are both hardware enthousiasts and are inspired 😁
Do you have a time stamp on the reference? I'm not sitting through a 1 hour 41 minute video waiting for your name to be mentioned.
Yes Offcourse! 😀 3:30 Just click the links and watch!
