The thing's as small as one of today's netbooks but weighs a lot more. I'd intended to run it as a classic games box, but the lack of a CD-ROM drive has proved a real PITA.

- Intel Pentium 133 MHz CPU
- 48 MB RAM
- 1.4 GB HDD
- Chips and Technologies 65548 with 1 MB VRAM
- Windows 95 OSR2
- 10 Mb/sec Eithernet PCMCIA card

Ideally I'd like to get a CD-ROM drive of some sort for this creature... Any help with finding a good parallel port or PCMCIA CD-ROM drives for old laptops?

I suggest you upgrade the HDD (depending on what you plan on playing) and the best way of communicating is using the Network card, if using DOS you might have to dig for the software but through Windows it's not very difficult.

That way you can easily upload from your main PC to the Laptop like an iPod.

I have a similar machine with a SSD running NT4, can't get any DMA working but it is quite fast, can run Winamp with Variable Rate MP3's & run's Blood/Duke3D very well at 800x600.
