This is my main Windows XP system now. Though I do have another that is a Dell tower with a Pentium 4 3.2 HT paired with a Geforce FX 5950xt, I would rather keep that one as back up, so I slapped together a Athlon 64 system fast enough to handle Bet on Soldier. It is still a WIP, as I need to do some more work on the case (change out some dead leds in the front large clear plastic areas, etc). I had a 8600 GT installed, but really didn't need it in there as it was quite a bit more power then I needed on the GPU end, so I moved a notch down to a more fitting ATI X1800 GTO 256 meg card.
Specs are as follows:
Athlon 64 3800+ 939
MSI MS-7184 micro atx motherboard
2gb DDR ram in dual channel
DVD drive
80GB sata harddrive
Connect3D ATI X1800 GTO (new cpu paste applied, card heat sink washed out, and fan re-oiled,looks new)
SB Live! 5.1 pci card
Antec Basiq 350 watt power supply

I can't remember exactly what 3dmark scores I had with my A64 3500+ rigs, but iirc it was more around 15k?

Did you slipstream your SATA drivers? Or did you use a floppy disk? (me notices the floppy drive in the front).

A custom XP SP 2 disc that handles everything. Yeah my 3DMark 2k1 scores were actually about 2k lower then what I was seeing reviewers get, but then again the rest of my scores were on par or higher with reviews of the X1800 GTO, so I figured its just driver related.

EDIT: forgot to mention, floppy is in there in case I need to do any bios updating or anything. Actually tried to unlock my X1800 to a XL, but its a no go, sadly I got one of the few thousand Connect3D cards that cant be unlocked from 12 to 16. 🙁

How did you get your SATA drivers to work?
All my attempts failed so in the end I resorted back to using the floppy 🙁

Thats a nice looking rig. I have a similar spec machine, with a DFI Lanparty board and a 3700+. I score around 19k on 3DMark 2k3, but then I have the x1950 pro AGP from GeCube and it's overclocked like a mofo.
