OK, just installed Windows 2000, and it seems to run pretty well.

Got this puppy on CPU-Z as well:

It'll mostly get used to Win95 and DOS games with the enhanced MIDI options available there, and Voodoo1 games on the Pure3D. Windows 2000 went on mainly as a curiosity, and I'll probably try out some Rendition Verite 3D games as well at some stage.

It's a very nice setup, I myself have the ASUS version, can't remember the name, but these two are very familiar. One thing though - Since you're using a SMP system, an SMP ''compatible'' OS should come in handy. And since this goes under the lowest cpu power SMP setups, I advise you to try Windows XP FLP, it's downloadable from the MS page directly I recall, but anyways bittorrent sites help all the time.

MOBO: PVI-486SP3 Rev 1.2
CPU: POD-83
RAM: 2x16MB
VIDEO: Matrox Millenium 2MB/Voodoo2 12MB/Video Blaster VT300
AUDIO: SB Vibra16 FM
SCSI: 72GB 15k RPM HDD/YAMAHA CD-RW 16x/ZIP drive + FDD drive
NIC: 3Com Etherlink III
PSU: 230W Generic
OS: Win95 OSR2.5

I've always had a soft spot for dual socket7 rigs. Can you successfully run dual Cyrix MII's in there? That would be unique if you can, and perhaps the only such system in the world.

I upgraded to 112MB of RAM, and Win2K runs beautifully.

(That's two sticks of 32MB, and 6 sticks of 8MB)

Is it all cached?

Does any dual socket5/7 support dual Cyrix CPUs? I figure any Intel-chipsetted motherboard might not support non-Intel chips in SMP mode?

Ah nice rig there, I'm partial to Socket 7's myself.

Motherboard made in USA? Now that's retro!

It should be - the manual says that "the mainboard has an 11 bit tag built on board so cachability of main memory is to 512MB.'

Now, what would really look nice is identical HSFs 😉...
