I did some benchies under win xp using aida 64 and passmark. Some cpu intensive benchies it did insanely well, like somewhere around P4 2.8B/ Athlon XP2500 territory. Others like the memory stuff and passmarks's complex 3d, it performed where you'd expect it, i.e. Thunderbird/ Palomino/ Willamette territory.

It would be interesting to see some benchmarks of the Tualatin @ 1.6ghz vs a Willamette P4 running at the same speed.

no need. If I remember correctly, the 2ghz Willamette was equal in benchmarks to the 1.4 Tualatin.

Also, mad props for a awesome V2-sli setup. Post some benchmarks! I want to finish my V2 rig and see how it compares to an amd-1000 (slot).

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Very nice system. I love the tribute to the best designed PIII CPU OC'd to the classic 1.6 and paired with V2 sli. I used to have the same hard drive several years ago and I loved how fast it was (this of course before I got to play with SSDs and Raptors). This makes me want to play with my Tualatin systems again.

Haven't had much time to play with her till today, so finally some synthetic benchmarks:
First, good ol' superpi 1M - 1m 38.079s
2012-04-29_210201.jpg

Next, 3dmark 2000 - 2856 marks (1024x768, 16 bit, default settings)
2012-04-29_222904.jpg

3dmark 2001se - 1131 marks (1024x768, 16 bit, default settings)
2012-04-29_221954.jpg

All benches are done at a very modest overclock of 95mhz, so there's still some headroom left in her.

Nearest I've got to compare to is my Northwood 3ghz system + Voodoo 3 @ 200mhz which puts out 2778 marks in 3dmark 2000 and 2171 marks in 3d mark 2001se.

The Matrox G400 that's on the Dark Mistress gives 3102 3d marks in 3dmark 2000. Faster than both the V2 SLI and V3 @ 200mhz!

Time for serious tests.
Gaming!!!!!! Stick a Ti 4200 or 4600 in there and start testing games 😁

Done! Swapped out the G400 for an MSI Ti4600. 3dmark 2000 - 11956 marks
3dmark2000-4600ti-310drivers.jpg

and 2001SE - 9715 marks
3dmark01-4600ti-310drivers.jpg

3dmark 2000 run at 1024x768x16 and 2001SE at 1024x768x32

A quick look round the net reveals this to be slower than contemporary tests on P4s and Athlon XPs by about 10-15%. Though that this system runs 98SE could probably be a big factor in dragging said scores down. Really dunno though, just guessing.
