-IntelPRO100 LAN

Awesome, sounds a lot like my Ultimate Windows 98 Machine! (described here and here)

A few things to be aware of:

- As mentioned by Kamerat, the TUSL2-C is limited to 512MB of RAM. That will be plenty for period games, though.

- Be careful with Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 model numbers. The driver package on Creative's site only supports the SB0060, so this is the one to get for foolproof compatibility.

- The Pentium III 1400S will bottleneck the GeForce4 Ti4600 big time. The Ti4200 might be a better pick for this build.

- If you go with the TUSL2-C, you'll need to install Intel Application Accelerator to get UDMA working. This board also had shutdown issues with the Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 - I fixed these by disabling the parallel port and one of the serial ports (wasn't using them anyway).

Have fun, and good luck! 😎

For '01-'02 I'd probably go Pentium 4 or AthlonXP - specifically due to the bottleneck issues that Maximus points out. One advantage if you go AthlonXP is that most of the coolers will be inter-changable with S370 as well (they use very similar mounting). Some other things to think about:

- Radeon 8500 offers tessellation features that some games from this era support, if you're interested in playing around with that.
- Audigy and Audigy 2 are period correct for this era as well, and afaik have more uniform driver support.

For 2002 in XP, I would go Athlon XP, for 2002 in 98SE a 1400S works well.
