I have a Dell Latitude D830, specs:

T7500, 4GB RAM, 128mb NVS140M, 1920x1200, 128GB SSD, Intel 4965AGN wifi, XP

It's still decent enough to do surfing and browsing but it also does a lot of my retro programs and games as well. Have a Windows 3.11 VM in Virtual PC 2004 too. Thought you folks would be interested. It also has the unofficial XP SP4 update installed and it runs like a charm.

I got a D830 and several D630 myself, a lot of people are very picky towards these laptops but they are some of the best from their time. Do keep the cooler clean and replace all the thermal pads with copper shimms as there is a well known flaw. The only real gripe that I have is that the screens from this series are not out door viewable.
