So I currently have two Windows XP machines. The first one, I have had the case since the early 2000's. It has been to a couple of family members as well, but made its way back to me! It has had some different systems built in it and I'm missing some drive rails and I have to use larger screws to hold the cards in, but keeping this case until I die. It has a sticker on the bottom of the case from a motherboard I had at one time and I was able to find the best one to rebuild my system.

Specs of the blue system:
- AMD Athlon XP 2500+
- 2GB DDR400 Dual Channel
- Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 Motherboard
- 40GB IDE Hard Drive
- LG DVD SATA Burner
- Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro 256MB SDRAM
- Sound Blaster Audigy sound card

That's a great Windows XP system and it's built very well nice job keeping it super clean and neat inside. I'm also a very big lover of socket A systems.

We started out with a Pentium 133MHz, then I upgrade it to a 166MHz, then a 200MHz with MMX as our family computer, I eventually got my own desktop and I had an AMD K6-2 system. That was fun trying to get Win XP to run on it! Then I eventually upgraded to the Socket A system. I think the fastest I had growing up was the XP 2400+. Stuck with AMD for a long time up through S939, AM2, AM3, and then changed over to the Core 2 Duo, etc...

We had a very similar upgrade cycle in my family. But we went from a socket A system and a dual P3 500 system to a socket 775 Nforce 680i based system. I still have the socket A system and the dual P3. The socket A system I cleaned up and now my 6 year old son has it in his room. Me and my wife installed alot of our educational games from when we were kids on to it. He also helped me take it apart and put it back together and he had a blast with it.

A Abit chipset heatsink on a MSI board, 😀

Anyway, most important thing is: keep your 9700 cool...
The Ati 's 9700 (pro) are prone to fail due to heat problems.
I had also a 9700 like yours, and i have made the wrong decision to overclock... it's life wasn't so long 🙁

Nice systems!
The MSI Neo2 Platinum (along withe the ASUS P3B-F) is my most loved mainboard of all times
Also had the same Chieftec Dragon Midi Tower (black, in my case ) for many, many years...

The only thing that I would change is the 9600, I'd replace it with a GeForce3-4-FX in order to have one system with nVidia and the other with ATi 😉
