I just put up a video review of the 1997 thinkpad 765d. The last of the flip up keyboard models to my knowledge. First with the 13.3" TFT.

** My apologies for the 360p resolution. This is my first video review and I didn't set the recording app to the intended 1080p. I may re-record it if there is demand; but I wanted to get the content up for you all first **

I picked up this Fantastic vintage machine that I'd like to share my thoughts on.

It's the last model with the flip up/lift up keyboard and the first sporting a 13.3" TFT active matrix screen in this size.

Specs
release date ~ approximately April 1997
Pentium 166MMX
8mb + 32 mb ram (max 104 mb ram - edo ram, 2 sodimm slots)
3gb Hard drive
6x cd drive
Lithium ion battery
Parallel, serial, vga, pcmcia, audio

Currently, it has windows ME installed (not my first choice)

Audio uses a DSP chip called MWAVE which IBM/HP used for a fair number of machines of the era as it combined modem/audio onto one chipset.

My current model has a Supervisor/bios password in place. It's strange.

Original 3gb hard drive => boots no problem
change to any other hard drive => a lock/password prompt shows up.

I still suspect that it's just a central BIOS Supervisor password but that somehow, it has also locked it down so that you can't change hard drive/boot devices. COmments?
(This is my only vintage thinkpad).
