Snover and others... just a quick bit of trivia... The trademark on the MT-32 is dead. It expired in 1996. As for "Roland" being trademarked.. one can't actually legally trademark the name of a company. One can only trademark the logo or brand of the company. "Roland" by itself is not a trademarked item. Roland displayed in the font and the manner like it does in their manuals on their website, hardware, etc., is however, trademarked. This is just a quick note as I keep seeing recognition (particularly on the MT-32 emulation site) that Roland and the MT-32 are recognized as trademarked.

I still don't know about the PCM ROM. Of course, I would assume its copyrighted (and as such will remain so for another 100 some-odd years). Though Roland has, in the past, donated their PCM libraries and patches into the public domain. Perhaps they have already done so with the MT-32's ROM. I'm going to keep looking.
