Hi!

I know that the samples will themselves sound differently, but wouldn't an XG device (card or softsynth) be capable of all the same synthesizing functions as an MT-32? If so, couldn't some kind of interpreter or passthru be devised, which might ultimately sound better than a real MT-32 or MT-32 emulation due to the likelihood of an XG device having higher-quality samples? Plus it wouldn't involve the legal issues that trouble MT-32 emulation presently.

Just an idea. Thanks, bye!
