First of all: I'm a user of DosBox and I just 'LOVE' this program!
Thank you very much for making me able to play my dosgames
on XP. 😉

well... as the title says.
DosBox does a great job playing games from the HD.
But unfortunatly it gives me this weird errors with 'all' of my CD-rom games. 😮

This is what I've done so far:
Z:\mount c C:\EWJ
*is mounted*

Z:\mount e E:\ -t cdrom
*mounts perfectly*

but then I try to play the game:
C:\EWJ1.EXE
*game loads*
-Cd-rom found
*Cd pops out*
-please insert the cd and try again.

And It does this with 'ALL' of my Cd-rom based games! 🙁
I've looked at the Faqs on the Homepage of the site and it said
it could be because the map (and programs in the map)
Are set to 'Read-Only' mode.

So I Removed the Read-only tag on the map and applied it to the
programs in the map too, but afterwards I get thesame result
With Earth Worm Jim and Rayman.
The game wants to load. And whenever it does a CD-rom check
or tries to access the CD in any way it just pops it out
and asks me why I popped out the CD! ¬_¬

I really hope you can help me with this! 😢
Tips and Suggestions are REALLY welcome! =3

And before anyone is gonna say this:
'no' I do not want to create Iso's out of my Cd-roms.
Then I could just as good download them illegally
instead of having bought the original cd's. 😜
(and also because both Rayman and EWJ use an
extra audio-track on the CD wich is allergic to the ISO-format) 😉

Making an ISO or BIN/CUE image DOESN'T MEAN you are piracying anything. Besides, it will load faster and may solve some problems (using with imgmount command). Also, remember the -usecd and -ioctl cdrom options in mounting command line.

Also there are lots of differing binary image storage formats for CD/CROM backups. ISO is just one of those. Apps like CloneCD and Disc Juggler can rip all data from a CD including hidden data channels and audio sessions.

Perhaps you are running some strange CD-drive monitoring utility? Does it work in Windows safe mode?

If only someone could make a floppy that can hold more data then a cd then their wouldn't be these problems.

No, that would solve nothing! Also, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zip_drive .
