Hello,

I know it is a classic question: How do I have the \ or * on a non US keyboard on DOSBox 0.72? I am running it under Linux Gentoo, with a French AZERTY keyboard.

In 0.70, using a "fr" keyboard layout (in dosbox.conf) worked perfectly.
I have then updated to 0.72. I have created a new config file (dosbox.conf). In 0.72, with the "fr" layout, the letters (a,z,e,r, and so on) are correct. But some symbols (like \, like *) do not appear correctly!

I have just checked: After downgrading to 0.70, the keyboard works perfectly.

Is this a known issue with 0.72?

Have a nice day,
leTigreBleu

PS : Congratulations to the DOSBox team! It is so nice to be able to run old software on different hardware & OS! And, by the way, the joystick handling is now wonderful in 0.72, I can play to Prince of Persia I without any problem.

yeah there appears to be a small problem with it.
I think the symbols are of the belgium keyboard layout.

You could use an external keyb.com to load the correct one)

How to ask questions the smart way!

Thank you very much! It is a good workaround.

For DOSBox users, here is what I have done:
- in the [dos] section of dosbox.conf: keyboardlayout=none
- in the [autoexec] section: c:\keyb\keyb fr

Have a nice day,
