Okay, I'm trying to get the King's Quest Collection to work on my new computer, and since the disc came with DosBox 0.63, and apparently support was lost from 0.70 and onward, so I'd like to try using 0.65. I remember getting it it working before by updating DosBox. Can anybody help me find this version? (Last time I tried those weird patches, and all they did was screw up the paths even more.)

kings quest should work fine in 0.72

however if you want 0.65 (which i do NOT recommmend)

I can vouch for that. I've tested KQ I-VII in dosbox 0.72.

Mine are copies from the original disks and some from the older collection release (I never had a copy of I EGA or II...) KQ7 I backed up to .iso, and all is handled beautifully. 😀

Also, if the OP's problems are related to paths, maybe modifying the RESOURCE.CFG files would help?

probably the usual 'big name' dos game places. The kind of places that still recommends VDMSound over DOSbox on running games like DOOM and WOLF3D and BLOOD OMG
