Dosbox goes really slow when there is a huge number of files to be loaded...
For example progammes that use databases(5477 files) are REALLY hard to start up.
Is there a fix for this?

Set DosBox to correct core.
Increase cycles or use auto cycles.
Decrease the # of files in your Database.
Use your Database program in your host computer.
Use your Database program in VM software that supports running Database software.
