In dosbox (any game, none in particular) all versions i've tried, I have a sound delay of roughly .5-1 second. Is there a way to speed that up?

I've looked through faqs and tried the suggestions, on top of fiddling with the config files a bit.

In case it matters, I run:

AMD64 X2 4200+
8800GT
MSI K8N Neo4-F
Onboard audio (Realtek AC '97)

All drivers are up to date.

The only games I play are the old ID games, raptor, couple others I can't think of off the top of my head.
