Ok, so I see that the official DOSBOX 0.72 build and the included copy with the DBGL Do not include the [vga] section. There are the options under the Display TAB to change SVGA chipset, RAM, Glide, etc, but they are grayed out. When I use the config file from the CVS build from Ykhwong's Site (http://ykhwong.x-y.net/page.htm) These options exist.
Are they useful?
Is there any reason why they are not included in the DOSBOX official builds?
I've always used these settings before using DBGL (BTW, Thank You for DBGL! AWESOME! and for the Windows/Linux compat!)
Why do you have the options available but use a dosbox.conf without them?
Does the official build work with the settings?
P.S. Here is the section I'm referring to (it's before the [mixer] block):
[vga]
# svgachipset -- Select one of the following supported SVGA chipsets:
# s3 (default), et4000, et4000new, et3000, pvga1a, or none.
# Full chipset name (like 'Tseng ET4000') will also work
# as long as it contains one of the strings above.
# videoram -- Amount of video memory on emulated SVGA. Not all emulated
# chipsets support this setting.
svgachipset=s3
videoram=2048
