Okay I just downloaded Elder Scrolls: Arena onto Linux (Kubuntu 7.10). I took all the necessary steps to play the game, but when I went to run the .exe file it said it had to be run under Win32. How do I do this?

If the app is a Windows one, you may want to use wine.

Read my 60 Seconds Guide to DOSBox (and don't just read it - follow it too).
If that doesn't help, come back with details on how you mounted your C and D drives, how you did the install, how you configured sound, music etc.
Note - you will need to combine bits and pieces of Windows and Mac parts of the guide to get something that will work on Linux. You probably don't have a configuration file either. You will need to create that by hand using the command
config -writeconf ~/.dosboxrc

How to ask questions the smart way!
I assume this is bethesda's release. Run wine on the .exe file first to install it. Then you can use DOSbox from there.
Don't forget to review the copy protection codes document included when you try to exit the dungeon!
