Hello to everyone.

First of all I want to say that I've looked at every possible guide in this site or the general net and tried every possible solution.

I'm using Windows Vista x64 and I have a relatively fast system (c2d e6600, GTX 280, 4gb RAM, Xfi Fatal1ty etc.)

My problem is that some games run too slow in DOSBox. For example, full screen effects (like picking up a power up) in DOOM engine games cause the FPS to get as low as 4-5 for the duration of the effect. Likewise the same thing happens also in Descent 2. But no such thing happens in BLOOD. I've tampered with the config file (cores, cycles, rendering settings etc.) but I had no luck. The games seem to run faster in windowed mode. I thought the opposite should happen.

Also whatever I can try (apart from using the CD audio cable) , I can't get Redbook audio to work. Descent 2 accesses the drive like normal but I hear no music.

I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks a lot...

for cd audio: cue/bin of your cdroms
for speed. you tried output=ddraw ?

Water flows down the stream
How to ask questions the smart way!

I created a cue/bin image file out of the cd and mounted it: still no cd audio.

DDraw really worked, game's a lot faster now. But still not %100 smooth

as posted in earlier threads before (about 32-bit Vista to be sure) :

try and mount the drive using -noioctl switch

No need for -noioctl, I forgot to use DOSbox's built in mounter 😀 It works now
