hi,

would it be possible to make a conf file option (for the next version) to enable/disable the dosbox logo when booting?
I think it's annoying when running/closing dosbox a lot. And people who don't know how to compile their own dosbox executable (no knowledge or no programming experience) also will have a way to disable the logo.

thx

The logo was included in DOSBox to:

Stop people confusing DOSBox with the "Command Prompt" or the "DOS Box" in Windows.

To stop amateur johnny in his basement from packaging abandonware with DOSBox and claiming that he whipped up a solution in 2 days to play DOS games on modern machines.

To brand DOSBox

To offer other services such as GOG and the like to brand the product.

As for it being annoying, as one of the beta testers I've probably seen the screen like a thousand times during testing and it hasn't annoyed me.......

0.6 seconds. At least if I programmed it correctly.

Is there a way to make it show the logo in full-screen if it's set to open in full-screen either by command line or in the conf file? Right now it still just shows the logo in a window whether you start it in fullscreen or not.

That's not a logo issue that's just how DOSBox works. When you set fullscreen=true then it will first launch DOSBox in Windowed mode and then make it fullscreen automatically. Since the logo is rendered inside DOSBox then you'll probably notice that DOSBox doesn't go into fullscreen immediately. It's the same behavior as 0.72 (except that 0.72 didn't have a logo).

That's too bad then. I'd almost prefer it to show the logo in full-screen as well.

Oh well. No biggie. I don't mind the logo, incidentally.
