vista in 24 or 32 bpp i get BSoD
linux live cd reboots suddenly in 24 or 32 bpp
so i normally keep it in 16bpp but 8bpp when i need to use old windows programs

i think the video chip is busted
it doesnt matter much 16bpp looks fine
