I recently downloaded a few old DOS games in stand alone .app format for my Mac.
I own all of the titles I downloaded, and have been running them in DosBox, but thought it would be much easier and faster to use these .app versions.
I'm relatively familiar with DOS as an OS, as I grew up with it. So I can use DosBox with some proficiency.
But, I was wondering how these .app versions were made.
I wish to make my own versions of games I have lying around, and also edit some of the downloaded ones I have now. But I don't know how the .app works.
I know it is a kind of "wrapper", but Googling such a thing just gives me lists of DosBox GUI front-ends and istalation applications.
I want something to create these stand alone .apps that contain DosBox and the game files, thus needing no external or other programs to run.
I also want to know how to edit the existing ones I have to add command lines on boot (eg:" -hires" after the .exe)
Any help or suggestions would be extremely appreciated.
