Hi everyone.
Please forgive my newbie-ness. But I recently recorded my playthrough of a game on Dosbox.
I tried importing the footage into Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, but the video was messed up, everything was blue.
I looked up some guides on how to get it to work and I found out that the recorded AVI files use a codec called ZMBV. And to use a program called Vdub to convert the file to a format that Premiere can recognize.
I downloaded Vdub but whenever I try to import the footage into it I get the msg;
"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'ZMBV' (unknown)
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."
I tried googling how to fix this but all I found was posts saying to download more programs. I've also installed FFDshow, XVid, and FFMpeg. But still no change.

So can anyone help me with this? I just need to be able to convert my footage into a usable format in Adobe Premiere.

If anyone is willing to assist I'll provide any further info you need. Thanks

I did. A small window flashes in the upper left of my screen for a microsecond. I ran it a few times to see what it said. It was an extraction window saying the file was installed to C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
I checked that folder and verified that zmbv.dll is there
