Ok hello guys 😀

Hers my Problem. I want to play the good old Z. I found the old CD. But highly unlikly she is damaged and I'm affraied that she maybe broke by using and destroying my CD-drive.

A little Picture I edit:

JrCsc.jpg

SO my plan was to Kopie the CD to my Harddrive and mount that folder in my dosbox-cd-drive (with mount d (...) -t cdrom)

But when I start the game, there is an error: File missing: mane.lbm Please ensure CD is in drive, and door is closed

SO my Plan is to create a virtual drive in my workstation, copy the Z disk-data in there and run that folder as my cd drive with dosbox

My question now: Does this work ?? Im a little bit worried, cause 2 yeahrs ago, one of my friends started a dosgame at my pc with double-click and it destroyed my hole windows 🙁

You can image the CD. There are various programs which do that. I use MagicISO. DAEMON Tools also has it's own imaging method.

You can mount the image you made directly in DOSBox or load it in a DAEMON Tools virtual Drive, then mount the virtual drive in DOSBox.

You can't copy the Z disk-data to a virtual drive. It only works by mounting an image that has been made ahead of time.

DOSBox can't effect your host system, unless you do something silly like mount the root of your main partition.
