I am trying to get Daggerfall up and running under DOSBOX, but I'm having serious issues with the input from my keyboard. I found the FAQ about the keyboard setting, and have tried all the Canadian and US versions, but none of them work. The character that I'm having the most trouble with is \. I've found a way to get the character, but I need to use the control key, and it seems to automatically add a carriage return.

My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium, and my machine is an hp Pavilion dv5 Notebook PC (no keypad).

Any suggestions?
