I'm googling a lot and I can't find the way to make my Yamaha XG (ymf724f-v chip) use of the OPL3 chip inside.
I'm using Windows XP, and I installed the drivers from the official Yamaha site: http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/lsi/download/
It is now installed a driver called "YAMAHA DX-XG PCI Audio CODEC (WDM)", but I cannot figure out how to use the OPL3 features. I can only use the XG midi sounds.
I'm interested in:
1) Use it through DOSBox. I've downloaded the DOSBox patch version with OPL passthrough, but I don't know how to use it, either if it works on Win XP.
2) Play OPL3 the intrument banks with a MIDI Keyboard connected to the sound card via gameplay<-to->midi cable. But now, I'll prefer to focus my problem on its setup.
