Take it as some kind of concurrent beta release. It's an acronym meaning Concurrent Version something Don't remember it quite well. 😁

CVS stands for Concurrent Versions System, a version control system used to track changes made by a group of programmers to the source files of a program. However, programmers use the term "CVS" when they talk about the actual server that runs the version control system (the "CVS server") or the latest version of a program, as stored in the CVS repository (the "CVS version"). The latest is the most common meaning we use here, so when we (don't) talk about the CVS, we mean that latest version with all the latest changes made by the developers.
