I'm curious to know exactly how DOSBox emulates an MPU-401 MIDI port. I've found that, surprisingly, Super Fighter, which does *not* work under any real MIDI cards that it's been tested with, does work in DOSBox. As you can imagine, I'm wondering what particularities might cause this and, perhaps, if it's blocking anything else from working.

nope dosbox mpu emulation is decoupled from the rest.
Version 0.61 basicly forwards everything to your soundcard.

version next will have an option to enable an intelligent mode. Then the emulation will be able to generate interrupts and other stuff like that.
