Is it possible to simulate netbios over dosbox's built in IPX support? Or will netbios need specific code to work? Would love to get those old bullfrog games (magic carpet, syndicate) going multiplayer.

Did syndicate 1 have multiplayer? Dont remember that (or atleast never tried it).

I believe it did have IPX multiplayer for up to 4 players, but only with the "American Revolt" expansion.
yeah, syndicate wars: american revolt had multiplayer. it's netbios however. dunno why all bullfrog games did netbios over ipx.
anyways, netbios is a layer that can be run over an ipx network. it seems netbios.exe needs a NIC driver loaded to bind to though, which dosbox doesn't have currently. here's a description of how to get netbios working in dos:

sorry, i may have posted this in the wrong section. not sure if the official 6.1 even has the ipx support added.
