Hi all 😀

I'm having issues using Dosbox on my new WinXP machine, which is a Core2Duo with a GTX285.
It's attached to a 4:3 CRT monitor, but DOS prompt won't fill the screen vertically at full screen mode.

Already tried to set aspect=true and fullresolution=640x480 or original. Renderer is OpenGL.
I think Dosbox is using 640x400 and that's why I see black borders on top and bottom of the screen. Maybe this mode isn't compatible with the Nvidia card. I can't see any scaling options on Nvidia preferences.

Is there any way to run DOS prompt at full screen with my setup?

Maybe it'll switch to your usual text-mode aspect if you switch machine to vgaonly. It should then make a 720x400 resolution

Thanks for the feedback! 😀

Tried to set it to vgaonly, but I think 720x400 isn't a 4:3 resolution, the black bars are still there.

720x400 is technically 9:5 (or 18:10), but this *is* standard VGA text mode resolution.

When displayed on 4:3 monitor you got non-square pixels. This was normal.

Have you tried different renderers?
DOSBox is not really sane in its aspect ratio and scaling support.
