A newbie's question here.

I'm having a dual-core system, I notice that when I play games under dosbox, the maxium CPU% is around 50% no matter how many cycles I set (for some old Koei games, anything higher than 30000 cycles will not be playable though), and if I explicitly set dosbox running on either core, the load% on that core can reaches 100% with the same cycle settings.

My question is: is there any ways I can config the dosbox, so it will get the load% on both cores to 95%+ so I can make the games playable under cycle=60000 ?

Not really. Dosbox is mostly written with a single main thread for the emulation so what you're experiencing is normal. The best way you can up performance for higher cycles if you haven't already, is to use the dynamic core.

Thanks neowolf ! I changed the core=dynamic, now the game is faster at cycle=50000. 😁
