Hi,

First time dosbox user, installed it, double click on dosbox.exe and
a disprompt opends up and says:

'Config: Loading settings from config file dosbox.conf
MIDI:opened device:win32
Exit to error: Failed to crete a rendering output'

SO do i need to set up some config file for it to work?

Search the forums, especially the FAQ: there are several possibilities, for example old/bad video drivers. I'd check that first, then search for other suggestions.

Trying to run 7th Guest and it asks what directory do I want to copy files to and the only choice it gives me is Z: and when I select it it says there is not enough space what should I do?

Use a frontend. Download D-Fend and use that. It will guide you through the setup.
